Biography

Stuart K. Tewksbury was born in Manchester, New Hampshire. Tewksbury grew up in upstate New York and after he earned a doctoral degree in Physics from the University of Rochester in 1969, he joined the research division of AT&T Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, NJ. Tewksbury retired from Bell Labs in 1990, and served first as Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV. until 1998, and then as Professor and Department Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ., until retiring in 2012.

Tewksbury authored eleven technical books and numerous journal articles in the area of micro-technologies and architectures of complex digital systems. He was a Life Fellow of the IEEE.

Tewksbury died on Friday, December 27, 2013.
