John Vig: Biography
John Vig received the B.S. degree from City College New York, in 1964; and the Ph.D. in Physics from Rutgers - The State University, in 1969. He joined the Electronic Components Laboratory at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, in 1969. Throughout his professional career, working as an electronics engineer and program manager, he performed and led research aimed at developing precision clocks, sensors and low-noise oscillators. He retired in 2006 but continued working as a consultant.
Dr. Vig has been awarded 55 patents, and has published more than 100 papers and nine book chapters. He serves as a volunteer in his home town - as an Environmental Commissioner and trustee of the Friends of the Library. In his spare time, he and his wife of 45 years enjoy ballroom dancing.
