September 10, 1963 - First meeting of 'IEEE Professional Technical Group on Power' (PTG-P).
March 24, 1964 - Name changed to 'Power Group'.
November 17, 1970 - Approved name change to 'Power Engineering Society'.
May, 1982 – Field of Interest revision
November 18, 2007- IEEE BoD approved changing the name of the IEEE Power Engineering Society (PES) to the IEEE Power & Energy Society (TAB approved 17 November 2007)
