IEEE Geographic Unit Organizing Document - Nanjing
Formation
The IEEE Nanjing Section is located in Region 10, and was formed on 14 February 2007.
The IEEE Nanjing Section is represented atthe China Council.
Events
The 2nd IEEE Theoretical Aspects of Software Engineering Conference (TASE 2008), sponsored by IEEE CS and IFIP was held in Nanjing June 2008.
Geographical
The IEEE Nanjing Section covers three provinces, Jiangsu province,Anhui province & Zhejiang province.
Sub-Sections & Chapters
The IEEE Nanjing Section has two Sub-sections, Hefei Sub-section & Zhejiang Hangzhou sub-section, and 10 chapters comprising CAS, SP, CI,Computer,Communication,SMC, CS, AES, ED-SSC, AP-MTT-EMC ).
We will reorganize the Sub-Sections and Chapters due to their patchy activities, and a joint chapter needs spliting into individual chapters due to desciplines developing are very fast and each other having big difference.
Zhenya He will be retired due to recent health problems this year; Although my health is not improving and doing section activities will still be busy and will be attending the celebration meetings of the 5 big international conferences & 2 national conferences in next half-year of 2009. These force me to consider how the Section will continue to be successful. Because we are all volunteers, how to promote younger professors; and there are many, will need to work together, this is very important. I will detailly report to you in the end of this year.
