IEEE Geographic Unit Organizing Document - Nagoya

Section

The Nagoya Section is located in Region 10, and is represented at the Japan Council.

The section was formed on 14 Nov 1998.

Chapters

The IEEE microwave theory and techniques chapter was established in May 2010.

Milestones

In April 1929, the Yosami Station established the first wireless communications between Japan and Europe with a long wave operating at 17.442 kHz. The station is commemorated by an IEEE Milestone.

The museum houses much of the original generating and frequency doubler equipment, along with a 25m section of original masting of the 8 towers.
