September 28,1964 - a meeting was held to discuss the establishment of the Industry and General Application Group.
January 1, 1965 - Industry and General Applications Group officially established after approval by the IEEE Board of Directors.
December 3, 1971 - Name change to IEEE-Industry Applications Society
