IEEE STARS Articles Under Review

Title of the article with the number of characters plus spaces no more than 40; to facilitate good alphabetic sorting, titles may not begin with the words A, An, or The.

Name(s) of the author(s).

Citation tells what the technology is, how it evolved, and why it is important in 50 to 100 words.

Timeline consisting of 5 to 20 entries; each entry states the year in 4 digits, followed by a large systems-defined space and then text in which the number of characters plus spaces can be no more than 85.

Essay of 2,000 to 4,500 words; consisting of an untitled introduction of 1 to 3 paragraphs, followed by 3 or more sections, each headed by a brief title. Figures and tables should be distributed through the essay, and each should have a title and any necessary descriptive text. Figures and tables are separately numbered in sequence. There are at least 2 figures in the article, and the maximum combined total of figures and tables is 16.

Bibliography consisting of 2 to 12 references of which at least 1 must be of historic significance and 1 for further reading.

Biography of each author in 50 to 100 words.

Acknowledgements are usually put in final form after the review process is completed.

An individual is invited to write a STARS article only after submitting a proposal and having it approved by the executive committee of the STARS Editorial Board.
