David A. Laws was born and educated in the United Kingdom where he earned a B.Sc. in Physics. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1968 where worked for Silicon Valley semiconductor companies, including Fairchild Semiconductor, Advanced Micro Devices and Altera Corporation, for more than 30 years in roles from Product Marketing Engineer to CEO. He is a high-technology business consultant and semiconductor curator at the Computer History Museum, Mountain View, California. He has edited and written several articles on the history of semiconductor devices for the IEEE Annals of the History of Computing.
