Consider: - mainframe paradigm of engineering, science and fluid mechanics, based around Fortran - Programmable calculator - Basic / GWbasic used in school education programs. - electrical simulation X3AC - early 1980's evolution into 3GL, with dBase 3+, xBase systems - COBOL as evolution of teleprinter ASCII text column system based.
