Marconi First Wireless Experiments, 1894-1895 +The villa has custodians and the Marconi Museum has a staff for guided visits (arranged by reservation)
Mercury Spacecraft MA-6 +The Prologue room is open to the public during the summer months and is visited by more than 5,000 non-Boeing people every year. In addition, the Prologue Room is used by The Boeing Company to explain the vast history of the company to domestic and foreign dignitaries. In addition, middle school students are given tours of the Prologue Room. They learn the mechanics of flight and they are encouraged to consider careers in math, science, and engineering. There is a visitor's parking lot next to Bldg 100 where the public may park and walk to the site of the milestone plaque. The Prologue is a secure area and Boeing provides daily security patrols of the area. The Prologue Room (site of Mercury Capsule MA-6 ) is inside the secure area of Bldg 100


Pearl Street Station +Building is a secure site.


RAMAN EFFECT +It is a Government of India Research Organization, with proper protected campus.The plaque may be erected at the Main Gate, or at the Central lobby of the Building. Visitors are allowed inside for specific purposes with proper identity.
Rheinfelden Hydroelectric Power Plant, 1898 - 2010 +The exhibition pavilion is open to the public during certain daytime hours throughout the week, including Sundays and holidays. The pavilion, and the surrounding grounds where the plaques will be mounted, are under the surveillance of the power company’s security personnel, and are monitored by cameras.
Rincon del Bonete Hydroelectric Plant and Transmission System +As an important generating facility, the site is well secured. The plaque will be affixed to an outside wall, where the frequent public/students touristic/educational tours make a stop.


SAGE (Semi Automatic Ground Environment) +The main lobby provides entrance to public spaces such as the cafeteria and auditorium where IEEE meetings and other events take place.
SPARC RISC Architecture Introduction, 1987 +Oracle's campus is secured and is protected as a historical site.

Special Citation Computer History Museum +The plaque is secured by wall mount. The lobby is a public area which can be entered free of charge. The building is secure.


TIROS 1 +For public access the plaques are displayed on the exterior of the Sarnoff Corp (Formerly RCA Labs) building headquarters main entrance under a three story roof, and on marble surfaces. The work cited in this nomination was performed in several RCA facilities, RCA Labs, RCA Camden and RCA Astro. The building for the mounting of the RCA Plaque is the former RCA Labs and it currently or actually exists. (See photo attached.)
TPC-1 System +[1] The plaque site is within KDDI Headquarter, and is under the propoer security control. The visitors can access with prior appointment to KDDI (International Network Department, +81 3 6678 0800). [2] The plaque is within HT Headquarter, and is under the proper security control. The visitors can access at the normal business hour.
The 20 inch Diameter Photomultiplier Tubes +The factory is surrounded by a fence, but the front gate is kept open during the daytime. Visitors can go to the plaque site without going through the security during the daytime.
The Abacus +The plaque will be very near the front door of ICT building, and there are 24-hour security guards. Anybody could visit the plaque at anytime without the need to make an appointment.
The Birthplace of Silicon Valley +The monument area is very close to the street and will be maintained by the site owners and the City of Mtn. View
The First Breaking of Enigma Code by the Team of Polish Cipher Bureau, 1932-39 +The plaque site is publicly accessible at one of the busy streets of Warsaw downtown area, with high concentration of academics and tourists
The First Optical Fiber Laser and Amplifier +The site is open to the public.
The Floating Gate EEPROM, 1976-1978 +The Visitors' Lobby has direct public access, and the building is locked during non-business hours.
The High Definition Television System, 1964-1989 +The plaque will be permanently embedded in a block of marble placed near the entrance of the building of the laboratories. The NHK STRL is guarded by security personnel at the gate of the laboratories’ property and at the entrance of the building. A security camera monitors the plaque and the entrance at all times and the gate is securely locked during the evening. The plaque site is open to the public and visitors will be able to walk by the plaque which will be on open display.

The first satellite broadcasting to the public +The building of the laboratories is guarded by security personnel at the entrance of the laboratories lot and at the entrance of the building. The entrance lobby of the building is open to the public so that visitors can see the display about broadcast technologies.
The world’s first low-loss optical fiber for telecommunications +The area is secured by a gate. Corning Security will raise the gate for visitors wishing to park and view the plaque.
Toshiba T1100, a pioneering contribution to the development of laptop PC, 1985 +As Ome Complex is one of Toshiba’s facilities, it has enough secure gates. But it has a museum area in the building, and people are allowed to go into the building can access the museum area. Already IEEE Milestone Award “The First Word Processor for The Japanese Language, 1971-1978” is displayed at Ome Complex.
