Biography

Karl Rinner Wendt was born in Coshocton, Ohio and attended the University of Wisconsin. He received a degree in chemistry in 1930. He began a 17-year career with RCA in 1930 and produced 46 patents in his field. many of them of great significance such as automatic frequency control, (AFC) which applied to RF tuning of television receivers and the synchronization of horizontal sweep circuits.

He worked for a number of companies including Sylvania Corp, Wendt-Squires, Inc., Paramount Pictures, Rand Corp., Martin Marietta, Colorado Research Corp, and Data Ray Corp. Wendt was an Life Fellow of the IEEE.

Wendt died on August 19th, 1998.
