- March 26, 1963 - Name change to IEEE Professional Technical Group on Engineering Management
- March 23, 1965 - Name change to IEEE Engineering Management Group
- March 28, 1973 - Name change to IEEE Engineering Management Society
- November 19, 2004 – Field of Interest Revision
- February 18, 2007 – Became the Technology Management Council. IEEE BoD approved to dissolve the Engineering Management Society and establish the Technology Management Council, effective, 1 January 2008 (TAB approved in November 2006).
