The state of Queensland and the territory of Papua New Guinea were part of the IEEE Australian Section from 1972 until the Queensland Section was inaugurated on February 22nd 1985.


The Queensland Section was the 4th Australian section to be formed and it included Papua New Guinea, which had become an independent nation in 1975.

Background
