Background
IEEE Kansai Section was established in November 1998. The Bylaws of the Section was approved by RAB on 24 June, 1999 and the first officers were elected in April, 1999.
The number of members of the Kansai Section as of November 30, 1999 was 1472 , which was slight increase compared with that of June 30, 1999. In 1999 the Section had five Executive Meetings, one Annual Section Meeting, one Committee meeting, two technical lectures, and one symposium in co-operation with other institutes. In 2000,
we have already had three Executive Meetings, one Annual Section Meeting, two Committee meetings, two technical lectures and two symposia in co-operation.
