Background
The IEEE Germany Section is part of Region 8. The IEEE Germany Section covers the area of the Federal Republik of Germany and has currently more than 5600 active members in 2009.
The IEEE Germany Section has some serious competitive equivalents from a number of specialist German engineering societies, and as a result, there have been no sub-sections or indeed multiple sections devloped inside Germany. IEEE is none the less recognised as a excellent international source of information into Germany.
