Fritz Steudel received the IEEE Dennis J. Picard Medal in 2001 “For outstanding leadership, technical contributions and the implementation of innovative concepts in the design, development and deployment of large, wide-band phased array radar systems." He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Rutgers University and Northeastern University, respectively. Steudel worked for 46 years at Raytheon as a lead engineer within phased array radar system engineering.
