I, Henry F. Seels, started my aviation interest at age four in England. My parents and I, in 1914, fled from Antwerp, Belgium to London—where during WWI—we watched German planes blow up English observation balloons over London. Then in 1916, we shipped over to New York City via Ellis Island. My parents paid a ten dollars a head tax fee to enter the United States of America.

My early youth was spent between Hell's Kitchen and the Village as I watched the house we maintained being changed from gas service to dc electric. The dc was changed to ac and many electrical appliances were exchanged by the Edison Electric Company. These early days exposed me to many service problems.
