Don Scharfetter

Biography

Don Scharfetter earned his doctoral degree from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa., USA, in 1962. He worked for Bell Labs for 14 years where he was most noted for his invention of the Scharfetter-Gurnmel algorithm.

Later he became a professor at Carnegie Mellon and the University of California, Berkeiey, USA.

Dr. Scharfetter was a life Fellow of the IEEE and died on September 6th 2000.
