  • Category B agents - biological agents identified as the second highest potential threat to national security, due to moderate transmission and morbidity rates and low mortality rates. Agents include Ricin toxin, Brucellosis
  • Category C agents - biological agents identified as the third highest potential threat to national security, which mainly constitute emerging pathogens that could be engineered for mass dissemination in the future. Agents include hantavirus and Nipah virus
