Automation has many practical applications in the real world. Topics in this category are intended to describe the real life implementation of various automation methods.

Subcategories

Automated highways - also known as "Smart Roads," are roads designed to facilitate driverless cars moving at high capacity.
Automatic generation control - or "AGC," is a system used to maintain the scheduled frequency of power flows by adjusting the mechanical power input to generators.
Automatic testing - a procedure for testing software that automates and formalizes a manual testing program already in place.
Office automation - the computer hardware and software that digitizes office work, such as file transfers, usually based around a Local Area Network, or LAN.
