Biography

Arthur A. Oliner is currently a Presidential Fellow at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, where is also a Professor Emeritus of Electrophysics in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. In addition to his career at the NYU-Poly as a chair of the Electrical Engineering department (1966-1974)and Director of its Microwave Research Institute (1967 to 1982), Oliner has served as an engineering consultant to several companies such as IBM, Raytheon, Boeing, Hughes and Rockwell. He has also served as a Director of Merrimac Industries Inc. since 1961. Oliner has authored or co-authored close to 300 articles and books during the course of his career and has been the recipient numerous awards and honors, including the 2000 IEEE Heinrich Hertz Medal.
