The IRE, one of IEEE's predecessor societies, regularly issued year books, from shortly after its founding until the 1963 merger that created IEEE. These year books contained a variety of current information on IRE, such as officers, constitution, bylaws, section guidelines, and awards, but the larges part of each issue was a membership directory, sorted both alphabetically and geographically, The directory included basic information on each member---date joined, membership grade, address, and employer.
