Antenna Measurements
The development of antenna measurements techniques has evolved over time, with new measurements or methods of measurement being introduced to get around difficulties. The measuremenst are broken into:
Radiation Pattern Measurement
- Angle of radiation
- Far Field antenna ranges
- Near Field antenna ranges
Impedance Measurement
- Impedance bandwidth
Polarization
Gain and Front to Back ratios
Efficiency
Antenna Structures
- Wind loading
- Ice Loading
- Bandwidth
- Noise Figure, critically important in satellite and radio astronomy application.
- Power Handling
Related, and often integral to antenna measurements is the use of impedance matching devices (elsewhere).
