Biography
Cyrus Hale McLean was born on Prince Edward Island in 1898. McLean was educated in Vancouver, B.C., and Illinois, USA, in communications, electronics and business administration. His significant contributions to the international communications industry were reflected by his numerous leadership roles in various companies and organizations, both local and international, including chairman of the board and director at British Columbia Telephone Company, Vancouver.
He served as president and director for the following companies and organizations: Compania Dominicana de Telefonos, C. Por A., Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; General Telephone Company of Alaska, Seattle, Washington, USA; West Indies Telephone Company, Port-au-Prince, Haiti; and Vancouver Hockey Club, Ltd.; Burrard Hockey Club, Ltd.; and Northwest Sports Enterprises Ltd.
McLean died on August 25th, 1998.
