Metallurgical Reminiscences is a brief autobiographical treatise on the career of Albert Sauveur who began his career as a a humble worker in a Pennsylvania steel mill factory in 1889. Unsatisfied with his position, he studied to become a metallurgist. The text documents his struggle to find a position as a metallurgist and his eventual position as Professor of Mining and Metallurgy at Harvard University. The work concludes with a list of fourteen individuals that most greatly influenced Saveur.
